In a time of fast fashion, I am definitely someone who tries to look out for quality. I rather save my money and spend it on one piece I know it will be in my wardrobe for a long time.
The Kooples with their sophisticated and modern clothing are one of the brands I layed eyes on since forever, but never managed to shop there. So you can imagine how happy I was when I won the Valentines Day Giveaway with A New Kind of Love & The Kooples. A £200 gift voucher for the shop. After freaking out for around 20 minutes I sat down and knew immediately which new piece will make it to my wardrobe. Luckily it was also on sale!
A few days later the dress arrived and the quality and cut was even better than I thought! The fabric is really soft and thick and it fits perfectly.
You can get dolled up in it with high heels or also dress it down with cool boots and a leather jacket. I wanted to shoot it for quite a while now, but luckily I never had time for it.
Because a couple of weeks ago I found the perfect bag for the dress during the Wedding Fashion Show:
The Cambridge Satchel Company Yellow Poppy Bag. I knew it would be a perfect fit and I am so thrilled that CSC agreed to collaborate with me again.
Founded at a kitchen table, you can find the Cambridge Satchel bags now in the Buckingham Palace and beyond. The company was founded in 2008, in Cambridge, England, by Julie Deane and her mother as a way to pay private school fees for Deane’s children. As a Harry Potter Freak I was amused to read, that her goal was to create a timeless schoolbag which Harry and Hermione would have used at Hogwarts.
As a result of publications in international fashion magazines and collaborations with Blogger from all around the world, the production of the satchels increased from three homemade items a week to a few thousands in just a couple of years.
While meanwhile a lot of U.K. brands outsourced their factories, the CSC still makes their bags by hand here in the UK at their own workshop in the Midlands. And you can definitely feel and see the high quality of their products. For me another timeless piece you can join to your wardrobe your grandchildren will still use.
I chose the yellow Poppy from their new SS17 collections which introduces a range of new neon colours, inspired by the vibrancy of the Riviera coast for high summer. Doubtless a good pick to brighten up the Scottish summer.
